46. Castle on the Hill

May be viewed on a clear day from Rt. 36, Rt. 390, or the airport facing East Hill. Also the peaks of the castle can be seen from the corner of Van Campen and Clay Street or from Babcock Park.

In 1858, a water cure facility, "Our Home on the Hillside," was opened by Dr. James Caleb Jackson. The Jackson Sanitarium, the Jackson Health Resort, the Physical Culture Hotel, and the Castle on the Hill were the name changes for this location.
